Record ballot entries for 2027 London Marathon

A record 1,338,544 people have entered the ballot for the 2027 London Marathon, scheduled for April 25, surpassing last year's record of 1,133,813 entries and more than doubling the 578,304 entries recorded in 2024. The results of the random ballot draw will be announced in July, with 59,830 finishers having completed the 2026 edition. The 2026 race was notable for Kenyan Sabastian Sawe breaking the marathon world record with a time of 1:59:30, while Ethiopia's Tigst Assefa defended her women's title in 2:15:41.
