Nigerian thrower Goodness Nwachukwu defended her Commonwealth Games discus title at Glasgow 2026 on 29 July, breaking her own F42 world record with a throw of 39.66m, with Welsh throwers Funmi Oduwaiye (38.52m) and Bree Cronin (36.00m) taking silver and bronze. Scottish wheelchair racer Melanie Woods won three races, including a rerun, to claim two gold medals and delight the home crowd. England topped the Para athletics medals table with four golds, followed by India and Scotland with three each.
