Red Sox ‘Impossible Dream’ utility player, 13-year MLB veteran, dies at 88

George Thomas, a Minneapolis native who played eight different positions over a 13-year MLB career, has died at the age of 88. Thomas was notably part of Boston's 'Impossible Dream' Red Sox team, one of the most celebrated squads in franchise history. After his playing career, he went on to coach the Golden Gophers at the collegiate level.
