Reds' Eugenio Suárez leaves after taking pitch to hand; X-ray inconclusive, CT scan scheduled
Cincinnati Reds infielder Eugenio Suárez was struck by a 92.4 mph fastball from Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Mitch Keller on his left hand during the sixth inning of Sunday's game on June 28, 2026, forcing him to exit the contest. X-rays on the hand were inconclusive due to significant swelling, and manager Terry Francona announced Suárez will undergo a CT scan on Monday in Milwaukee, where the Reds begin a four-game series against the Brewers. The Reds lost the game 9-4 to the Pirates.
