Report: LIV Golf Team Championship officially cancelled as uncertainty over league’s future grows

LIV Golf has officially cancelled its $40 million Team Championship that was scheduled to take place at The Cardinal at Saint John's in Detroit from August 27-30, according to Telegraph Sport's James Corrigan. The league informed its players of the decision, with warning signs already apparent as no major infrastructure had been installed at the venue and Fox Sports had removed the event from its TV listings. The cancellation leaves an upcoming tournament in Indiana as LIV Golf's likely final event of the 2025 campaign, while significant uncertainty remains over the league's future beyond 2026.
