'Rock, paper, scissors' decides London Marathon dates

A game of rock, paper, scissors was used to determine the scheduling of elite races at the 2026 London Marathon, which will be held over two days. Women's wheelchair world record holder Catherine Debrunner beat men's world record holder Sabastian Sawe in the deciding game, earning the women's race the traditional Sunday slot. Both Debrunner and Sawe are 2026 London Marathon champions in their respective categories.
