Carlos Rodón pitched eight scoreless innings, scattering three hits and walking no batters, as the New York Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0 in the first game of a doubleheader at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday. Cody Bellinger hit a two-run homer to provide the only offense needed, preventing the Rays from clinching the American League East title. The victory was also the 100th of Rodón's career, and he recorded his 1,500th career strikeout by striking out Jonny DeLuca in the eighth inning.
