Rogers: Alonso 'could still play in PL now'

New Chelsea signing Morgan Rogers, who joined from Aston Villa in a British record transfer fee of £117 million this summer, has praised manager Xabi Alonso, stating the Spaniard 'could probably still play in the Premier League' based on his impressive passing ability in training sessions at Cobham. Rogers told ESPN Brazil that Alonso's technical quality commands respect from players and was a key factor in his decision to move to Stamford Bridge. Alonso was appointed Chelsea manager after the club finished 10th in the Premier League last season, following a stint as Real Madrid manager that ended with his sacking in January.
