Roland Garros targeted by WTA and ATP tennis players as pay row reignited
WTA and ATP players have renewed their pay dispute with the four grand slams, specifically targeting Roland Garros ahead of the 125th edition of the French Open. Although the tournament increased prize money by nearly 10 per cent compared to last year, players argue their share of total tournament revenue has declined from 15.1 per cent in 2024 to a projected 14.9 per cent in 2025. Players have also criticised the lack of response to their proposals on welfare issues, including pension and long-term health provisions.
