WBA welterweight champion Rolando Romero (17-2, 13 KOs) and two-weight world champion Teofimo Lopez (22-2, 13 KOs) are finalizing an August fight in Las Vegas, with August 22 as a possible date and the venue still to be determined. The bout will mark Romero's first defense of the WBA 147-pound title, which he won by defeating Ryan Garcia in May 2024. It will also represent Lopez's debut at welterweight after losing his WBO 140-pound title to Shakur Stevenson in January.
