Ronaldo pips Messi to win Ballon d'Or of All Time

Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, has won the Ballon d'Or of All Time, narrowly beating Lionel Messi following a month-long public online vote organised by France Football. The award recognised his standout 2007-08 season at Manchester United, during which he scored 42 goals and helped the club win both the Premier League and Champions League, earning his first Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo, who holds five Ballon d'Or titles in total and is the leading men's international scorer with 143 goals in 225 games, was congratulated by Portugal's Football Federation and former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid.
