Rory McIlroy ‘far away from where I need to be’ after struggling in Memphis

Rory McIlroy had a difficult week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, finishing at 8 over par and placing 66th out of 68 players in the field. The two-time Masters champion failed to break par in any of his four rounds, shooting a final-round 2-over 72, admitting he came in with limited competitive preparation after his last event at The Open. McIlroy acknowledged he felt increasingly lost with his swing as the week progressed and said he has significant work to do before the next FedExCup playoff event the following Thursday.
