Rory McIlroy fully backs DP World Tour as it deals with LIV, its own future

Rory McIlroy publicly expressed his full support for the DP World Tour at a press conference in Abu Dhabi on November 4, 2026, ahead of the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship at Yas Links Golf Course. McIlroy aligned himself with DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings, who recently announced a policy banning players who sign with LIV 2.0 from competing on the tour while allowing former LIV members to return. The statement reflects the ongoing tension between the DP World Tour and the LIV Golf breakaway circuit as both tours navigate their futures.
