Rough start for F1’s return to Sepang - RACER
Formula 1 returned to Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit for the first time since 2017, hosting what is described as the Bahrain Grand Prix after the original Bahrain venue fell through and an agreement with Malaysia was reached. Friday practice sessions revealed significant tire degradation challenges due to the aging track surface, catching drivers and teams off guard. Alex Albon and Sergio Perez both noted the extremely aggressive tarmac, with Albon suggesting Sunday's race strategies would be heavily influenced by the high tire wear.
