Rugby league international Kane Evans comes out as gay in a TV interview

Former rugby league international Kane Evans publicly came out as gay in a television interview on Monday with Channel Nine's '100% Footy,' stating that he felt a weight had been lifted off him. Evans had previously been subject to extortion threats related to his sexuality. He is the first high-level rugby league player in Australia to come out as gay since Ian Roberts did so in 1995.
