Rugby league legend and broadcaster Kear dies aged 71

John Kear, former England and Wales rugby league coach and BBC Sport broadcaster, has died at the age of 71. He passed away on Sunday while travelling back from the Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium, where he had been part of the BBC commentary team for the match between Wigan and Hull KR. The Rugby Football League described Kear, whose coaching career spanned more than 700 matches, as someone who 'was loved and admired throughout the sport and well beyond'.
