Russian teen claims first Grand Slam tennis title with French Open win
Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva, ranked eighth in the world, won her first Grand Slam title at the French Open on Saturday, defeating 114th-ranked Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 in the final. At 19, Andreeva became the youngest player to win the women's singles title at Roland Garros since Monica Seles in 1992. It was the first Grand Slam final appearance for both players, with Chwalinska falling short in her bid to become the first qualifier ever to win the Roland Garros title.
