Ryan Fox crowned Open champion as heavyweights wilt under pressure

Ryan Fox of New Zealand won The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, defeating American Cameron Young by a single shot. Fox birdied the 18th hole, draining an 11-foot putt after a 330-yard drive, to finish at 10 under par and claim the Claret Jug. Fox is the son of New Zealand rugby legend Grant Fox and grandson of a New Zealand cricket captain, making him a third-generation sporting champion across three different sports.
