Ryan Garcia defends WBC title on Mexican holiday weekend in Las Vegas

WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) will defend his title on September 12 against British challenger Conor Benn (25-1, 14 KOs) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas during Mexican Independence Day weekend, as announced by Zuffa boxing president Dana White. Garcia, 27, won the WBC welterweight title from Mario Barrios in February with a dominant decision that included a first-round knockdown. Benn, 29, is the son of British boxing legend Nigel Benn and is the WBC's top welterweight contender seeking his first world title.
