Rybakina defeats Sabalenka, wins first US Open title

Elena Rybakina defeated Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 on Saturday to win her first US Open title and her third Grand Slam championship overall. The victory also secured Rybakina the world No. 1 ranking, replacing Sabalenka, and ended Sabalenka's 19-match winning streak at the US Open. Rybakina earned $5.5 million, the largest prize in Grand Slam history, and claimed her second Grand Slam title of the year, having also beaten Sabalenka at the Australian Open.
