Sabres eliminate Bruins in Game 6 of Eastern 1st Round
The Buffalo Sabres eliminated the Boston Bruins 4-1 in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference First Round at TD Garden on Friday, winning a Stanley Cup Playoff series for the first time since 2007. Goals from Alex Tuch, Mattias Samuelsson, Zach Benson, and Josh Norris powered the Sabres, with Rasmus Dahlin and Tage Thompson each contributing two assists. Goaltender Alex Lyon was outstanding throughout the series, finishing 3-1-0 with a 1.14 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage, as the No. 1 Atlantic Division seed Sabres advance to face either the Canadiens or the Lightning.
