
Salisbury 'very proud' of Royal Ascot record after Orthodox and Almeraq shine on the biggest stage
Salisbury racecourse received a significant reputation boost at Royal Ascot after two horses with winning form at the track excelled at the royal meeting. Almeraq, trained by William Haggas, won the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes having previously won the Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury, while Orthodox, who made his debut at the Wiltshire track, followed up with victory in the Norfolk Stakes. Salisbury's executive director Jeremy Martin highlighted that other Ascot performers including Ten Bob Tony, Trawlerman, and Morris Dancer also had connections to the southern track.
