Sarina Wiegman signs contract extension to stay as England women head coach until 2029

Sarina Wiegman has signed a contract extension to remain as England Women's head coach until Euro 2029, beyond her previous deal which was set to expire after the 2025 World Cup. The extension gives her the opportunity to win three consecutive European Championship titles with the Lionesses, having already guided them to Euro 2022 glory. Wiegman, who took charge in September 2021, also won the Euros with the Netherlands in 2017 and has reached the final of the last five major tournaments, including two World Cup runner-up finishes.
