Sasaki, Muncy get Dodgers back on feet in Bronx to begin half
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 2-1 on Friday night at Yankee Stadium to open the second half of the MLB season. Roki Sasaki delivered a strong start over 5 2/3 innings, striking out five and setting an MLB career-high fastball velocity of 101.8 mph, throwing 21 pitches at 100 mph or harder β the most by any Dodger since pitch tracking began in 2008. Max Muncy provided the decisive blow with a go-ahead two-run home run, helping Los Angeles bounce back after being swept to close out the first half.
