Schedule changes called for after Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic withdraw from Canadian Open

The Canadian Open tournament director has called for changes to the 'demanding schedule' after world-ranked stars Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic both withdrew from the Masters 1000 event, taking place from August 2-13 in Montreal. Sinner, who recently won Wimbledon by beating Alexander Zverev, cited health prioritisation as his reason for pulling out. Carlos Alcaraz will also miss the tournament as he continues recovering from a wrist injury sustained in April.
