Scheffler says PGA Tour headed 'in right direction' with two-tier system
World number one Scottie Scheffler expressed cautious optimism about the PGA Tour's planned structural overhaul, saying elite golf in the US is heading in the right direction. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp unveiled the revamped model on Tuesday, featuring a two-tier system set to launch in 2028: a top-tier PGA Tour Championship Series of approximately 23 events including majors, and a PGA Tour Challenger Series of at least 20 events providing a pathway to the elite circuit. Scheffler made his comments ahead of the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, which begins Thursday and is the last signature event of the 2026 season.
