Scotland withdraws backing for FIFA's Infantino

The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has officially withdrawn its support for FIFA president Gianni Infantino's reelection, citing a lack of transparency over plans to sell stakes in a World Cup company to private investors. SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell confirmed on Monday that Scotland would not be voting for Infantino, aligning with UEFA's position. The SFA joins several other European football associations, including England, the Republic of Ireland, and Wales, who had already withdrawn their letters of support ahead of next year's FIFA Congress.
