World number one Scottie Scheffler shot a 6-under 65 in the opening round of the 2026 3M Open, his debut at the tournament, to immediately contend for the title. After struggling with his putter at The Open Championship the previous week β where he finished tied for fourth at Royal Birkdale β Scheffler rebounded strongly, gaining over three putting strokes on the field, the second-best mark in the field. He carded six birdies with no bogeys and holed 134 feet of putts across his round.
