Scottish Rugby CEO Alex Williamson, 52, has been placed on 'extended leave,' with his duties now being shared among the executive team, according to a statement from the organisation. Williamson had only been in the role for approximately 16 months, having taken up the position in January 2025 following a recruitment process that lasted over a year. His appointment came after the departure of long-serving predecessor Mark Dodson in January 2024.
