Scottish Rugby CEO sacked over 'inappropriate behaviour'

Scottish Rugby CEO Alex Williamson has been dismissed with immediate effect following an independent investigation into his conduct, which is understood to have involved an undisclosed relationship with a Scottish Rugby employee. Williamson had been appointed in September 2024 and was placed on extended leave in May 2026 before the investigation concluded. Chief financial officer David White will serve as interim CEO while a replacement is sought.
