Scottish Rugby sacks chief executive Alex Williamson after inquiry
Scottish Rugby has sacked chief executive Alex Williamson following a months-long inquiry into his conduct in the role. Williamson, who succeeded Mark Dodson in September 2024 and began work at Murrayfield in early 2025, had been placed on extended leave since late May 2025 with no public explanation given at the time. He had been in the post for approximately 18 months before his dismissal.
