Scottish Rugby sacks chief executive Williamson after inquiry
Scottish Rugby has sacked chief executive Alex Williamson following a months-long inquiry into his conduct in the role. Williamson, who had been appointed as successor to Mark Dodson in September 2024 and began work at Murrayfield in early 2025, had only been in post for approximately 18 months. He was placed on extended leave in late May 2025 before the decision to dismiss him was announced.
