Sean McCann, the 21-year-old younger brother of Madeleine McCann, competed in the 800m freestyle at the Commonwealth Games, watched by his parents Gerry and Kate. The appearance came shortly after a strong 400m freestyle performance in which he earned a surprise place in the final. However, McCann finished well outside the medal positions in the 800m event.
