Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wins 2nd NBA MVP, beating Nikola Jokić, Victor Wembanyama
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has won his second consecutive NBA MVP award, beating finalists Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets) and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs), with 83 first-place votes compared to 10 and 5 respectively. The 27-year-old becomes the first back-to-back MVP winner since Jokić in 2021 and 2022, and the first guard to win consecutive MVPs since Stephen Curry in 2015 and 2016. This gives the Thunder four MVPs since their inception in 2008, the most of any NBA franchise in that span.
