Shakur Stevenson granted release from Zuffa Boxing, will start promotional company
Four-division world champion Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) has parted ways with Zuffa Boxing just three months after signing with the Dana White-led promotional company, having never fought under their banner. The 29-year-old Newark native announced his departure on Monday via his YouTube channel, stating he requested and was granted his release over the weekend after eight weeks of training camp without any scheduled fights materializing. Stevenson revealed plans to launch his own promotional company, with talks regarding a fight against Devin Haney reportedly ongoing.
