Shaw named Football Writers' Women's Player of Year
Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw has won the Football Writers' Association Women's Footballer of the Year award for the second time, having previously won it for the 2023β24 season. The 29-year-old Jamaican international has scored 19 goals in 21 WSL appearances this season and is one goal away from becoming the first player in WSL history to score 20 or more goals in three different seasons. Shaw is set to secure a third successive WSL Golden Boot, though she is reported to be considering leaving Manchester City this summer after contract talks stalled.
