Shelton holds nerve to dethrone Fritz in Stuttgart
Ben Shelton won his first grass-court title at the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart, defeating fellow American Taylor Fritz 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in one hour and 48 minutes. Shelton, who won all five of his matches in deciding sets, has now claimed ATP Tour titles on hard courts (Dallas), clay (Munich), and grass (Stuttgart) in the same season β the first American to achieve that feat since Sam Querrey in 2010. With three titles in 2026, Shelton trails only world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who has five.
