Shiho Kuwaki holds her nerve in playoff drama to complete shock Women’s Open triumph

Japanese golfer Shiho Kuwaki, 23, won her first major championship at the Women's Open held at Royal Lytham & St Annes, defeating Germany's Esther Henseleit in a playoff. Henseleit had forced the playoff with a remarkable 45-foot birdie on the final hole of regulation play, but Kuwaki secured the victory with a strong approach shot on the 18th hole during the sudden-death playoff. England's Charley Hull and Lottie Woad finished tied for sixth place.
