Shohei takes the top spot: 5 takeaways from the first MLB All-Star voting update

Major League Baseball released its first 2024 All-Star voting update on Monday, with Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers leading all players with 1.165 million votes for the NL designated hitter spot. Dodgers teammates Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, and Andy Pages also lead their respective positions, while the Atlanta Braves hold four NL starting spots through players including Drake Baldwin, Ozzie Albies, and Ronald Acuña Jr. The two clubs, which have the best records in the majors, account for seven of the nine National League starting positions for the All-Star Game scheduled for July 14 in Philadelphia.
