‘Silent assassin’ Sabastian Sawe targets world record with supershoe in London Marathon

Kenyan runner Sabastian Sawe, nicknamed the 'silent assassin,' is targeting the men's marathon world record of 2 hours and 35 seconds, set by Kelvin Kiptum in 2023, at the London Marathon on Sunday. This will be only Sawe's fifth career marathon, and his main rivals include Jacob Kiplimo and Tamirat Tola. Sawe previously attempted the world record in Berlin in September but was hampered by temperatures in the mid-20s Celsius.
