Simon Byford’s golf column: Lawrence hits an ace in Knockout Cup

Lawrence Walsh achieved a hole-in-one using a hybrid club at the par 3 12th hole during his first-round match in the George Baker Senior Knockout Cup at Haverhill Golf Club, going on to win the match 2-up. In the Foundation Cup, Daniel Jupp took the overall title with a combined nett total of 136, edging out Jack Marsh by one shot. The men's midweek Stableford was won by Andy Tabrar with 34 points on countback.
