Simon Ehammer and Annik Kälin win at Götzis Hypomeeting
Swiss athletes Simon Ehammer and Annik Kälin both won their respective multi-events at the Götzis Hypomeeting in Austria on May 30-31, setting world-leading marks and Swiss national records. Ehammer scored 8778 points to win the decathlon ahead of world champion Leo Neugebauer (8730) and Niklas Kaul (8528), highlighted by a world decathlon long jump record of 8.51m on day one. Kälin won the heptathlon with 6726 points, just 21 points ahead of Emma Oosterwegel of the Netherlands, after a strong second day that included a wind-assisted 6.96m long jump.
