Sinner blames illness rather than extreme heat after crashing out of French Open
World No 1 Jannik Sinner was eliminated in the second round of the French Open on Thursday, suffering a stunning five-set defeat to Argentina's Juan Manuel Cerúndolo, 3-6, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1, 6-1. The Italian attributed his poor physical performance to illness rather than the extreme heat, calling the loss 'tough to accept' given his recent form. Sinner announced he will skip the grass-court season before Wimbledon in order to fully recover, both physically and mentally.
