Sir Alex: Ronaldo and Rooney were 'best in Europe'

Sir Alex Ferguson has praised Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney as the two best players in Europe during their time together at Manchester United, speaking in an interview with Sky Sports. The duo formed a formidable partnership from 2006-07, scoring 104 Premier League goals between them over three seasons, during which United won three consecutive league titles from 2006 to 2009 and the European Cup in Moscow in 2008. Ronaldo subsequently left for Real Madrid in a then-world-record transfer fee.
