Sir Billy Boston: Trailblazing rugby league player dies aged 92

Sir Billy Boston, the trailblazing rugby league player, has died at the age of 92. He was the first ever rugby league player to receive a knighthood, an honour that ended a 130-year wait, awarded in June 2025. Boston was also historically significant as the first Black player to represent Great Britain in rugby league.
