Sir Garry Sobers, West Indies cricketing great, dies aged 89

Sir Garfield Sobers, widely regarded as the greatest cricket all-rounder in history, has died aged 89 at his home in Barbados, just 11 days before his 90th birthday. Cricket West Indies announced his passing on Friday. Sobers played 93 Test matches for West Indies between 1954 and 1974, captaining the side in 39 of them, and in 1968 became the first batter to hit six sixes in a single over, achieving the feat for Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in Swansea.
