Six PGA Tour Americas players miss final U.S. Open qualifier after medical emergency on flight from Mexico
Seven PGA Tour Americas players, including Luis Gagne (co-low amateur at the 2018 U.S. Open), boarded a flight from Mexico City to Miami on Sunday night after completing the Mexico Championship, hoping to compete in the final U.S. Open qualifier at BallenIsles Country Club on Monday, June 8, 2026. A medical emergency involving a sick passenger on their flight caused six of the seven players to miss the qualifier entirely. The seventh player, Chris Nido, managed to tee off but was forced to use a friend's clubs after leaving his own behind in Mexico.
