Sloane Stephens wins opening match, at Deaconess Women’s Tennis Classic

Sloane Stephens, a former world No. 3 tennis player, won her opening match at the Deaconess Women's Tennis Classic in Evansville, Indiana, defeating Bo Young Jeong two sets to none. The match was played at Wesselman Park on Wednesday under cooler conditions. Stephens stated she chose to enter the 100K-level event to gain match practice ahead of the US Open swing.
