Snell needs surgery for loose bodies in elbow; return this year in play
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell will undergo surgery on Tuesday to remove loose bodies from his left elbow, just one start into his 2026 season. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed there is no set timetable for Snell's return, but the Dodgers are hopeful he will pitch again this season, with the team considering the NanoNeedle Scope procedure that allowed Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal to return to light throwing in under a week. The Dodgers are already without closer Edwin Díaz, who had similar elbow surgery and is targeting a return after the All-Star break.
