Sony Championship Hawaii to be contested on PGA TOUR Champions beginning in 2027

The PGA TOUR and Sony Group Corporation announced Wednesday that the Sony Open in Hawaii will transition to a PGA TOUR Champions event starting in 2027. The newly named Sony Championship Hawaii will be held January 11-16 at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii, and will feature a purse of $3 million. Sony has been a PGA TOUR partner since 1999, and PGA TOUR Champions President Miller Brady expressed enthusiasm for the new era at the iconic venue.
